Tim Jennerjahn is a Lecturer at the University of Bremen in both the Faculty of Geosciences and Faculty of Biology and Chemistry. He serves as Programme Area Lead (PA 3) and Working Group Leader for Ecological Biogeochemistry at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT). Additionally, he holds editorial and leadership roles at the Estuarine, Coastal and Shelf Science journal and the Estuarine and Coastal Sciences Association (ECSA), with responsibility for organizing ECSA 61 in Brussels (2026).
- Research Focus: Biogeochemical cycles, carbon/nutrient dynamics, tropical coastal ecosystems, mangroves, seagrass meadows, isotope geochemistry, and science-society knowledge exchange.
- Recent Work: Addresses Blue Carbon potential in mangrove systems, nutrient cycling under climate change, and human impacts on tropical estuaries like Kerala's Pamba River and Chinese coastal zones.
