About
Tim Hogervorst is a postdoctoral researcher in the Self-Organizing Soft Matter (SSM) Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on ice crystal manipulation using glycopeptides, proteins, and nanoparticles to enhance cryopreservation techniques for biological materials. Previously, he obtained his PhD in Chemistry from Leiden University (2020) under Jeroen Codée and Gijs van der Marel, studying mannosylated conjugates for antigen-presenting cell targeting.
Research Interests:
- Developing ice-interactive materials to control cryopreservation damage
- Organic synthesis of glycopeptides and mannosylated vaccines
- Super-resolution microscopy for glycan-lectin interaction studies
- Applications in biomedical storage, tumor vaccines, and avian reproduction
Publications & Collaborations: Tim has contributed to 10 peer-reviewed articles (2019–2025) on topics spanning nanotube-forming peptides, gold nanoparticle platforms, and TLR7-targeted vaccines. His work involves collaborations with Utrecht University (2021) and institutions in Italy and Spain.
