Tim Haney

Tim Haney is a Professor of Sociology and program coordinator at Mount Royal University's Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts. He founded and directed the Centre for Community Disaster Research (2014–2019) and served as the inaugural Board of Governors Research Chair in Resilience & Sustainability (2019–2022). His research focuses on disaster sociology, environmental risks, urban development, and climate change denial. Haney earned his PhD from the University of Oregon, MA from Tulane University, and BA from Ripon College.
