Tim Friede is a Professor of Biostatistics and Director of the Department of Medical Statistics at the University Medical Center Göttingen. He holds a Master’s in Mathematics from the University of Karlsruhe (1998) and a Dr.sc.hum. (PhD) in Medical Statistics from Heidelberg University (2001). His career includes roles at Lancaster University (2001–2004), Novartis Pharma AG (2004–2006), and the University of Warwick (2006–2010) before joining Göttingen in 2010. Friede specializes in clinical biostatistics, focusing on adaptive trial designs, meta-analyses, and applications in rare diseases and cardiovascular medicine.
