Tim Fisher

Tim Fisher is an Associate Professor in the Department of Visual & Media Arts at Grand Valley State University, where he coordinates the Drawing Program. He has been affiliated with the university since 1998.

Education:

• MFA in Studio Drawing, University of Cincinnati
• MA and BFA in Studio Drawing and Painting, Central Washington University

Research Interests:

Fisher’s work explores iconography, archetypes, and narratives through traditional painting techniques. His imagery blends familiar elements (e.g., flora, fauna, cultural symbols) with surreal, dreamlike compositions to evoke reflection on themes like beauty, conflict, and subconscious dialogue. His style merges European artistic traditions with contemporary symbolic inquiry.
