Tim Crook is Emeritus Professor of Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, University of London. A former BBC radio journalist and president of the Chartered Institute of Journalists (2020-2022), he received the BJTC Special Recognition Award for contributions to journalism training.
His research spans:
- International media law and ethics
- Historical development of radio drama
- Espionage narratives in literature
Crook founded Goldsmiths' MA Radio program and authored key texts including Writing Audio Drama (Routledge, 2023) and UK Media Law Pocketbook. His biography of spy novelist Alexander Wilson inspired the BBC drama Mrs Wilson.
Current projects examine audio modernism and Great War propaganda. He serves on editorial boards for Philosophy of Medicine and George Orwell Studies.
