Prof. Tim C. Lüth is a Full Professor at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), leading the Chair of Microtechnology and Medical Device Technology (MIMED) since 2005. His research focuses on medical devices, surgical robotics, and assistive technologies for elderly care. Prior to TUM, he held positions including C4 Professor at the Charité and Humboldt University of Berlin, and a visiting scientist at the Japanese Robotics Research Institute ETL.
He studied Electrical Engineering at TU Darmstadt, earned his doctorate in Robotics from the University of Karlsruhe (1993), and completed his habilitation in Computer Science there (1997). His work bridges mechatronics and clinical applications, emphasizing rapid prototyping and precision surgery tools.
