Tilmann Grabbe is a Researcher and Doctoral Candidate at the Department of Modern History, Philipps-Universität Marburg. Since June 2010, he has served as an Assistant at the Chair of Modern History under Prof. Dr. Conze. His research focuses on recent contemporary history (1970s–1990s), environmental history, and security history, with a particular emphasis on the cultural and theoretical dimensions of historical inquiry.
Grabbe holds a degree in history, political science, and education from Philipps-Universität Marburg and Haagse Hogeschool (The Hague). Prior to his academic career, he worked as a legal student at the University of Hamburg (2003–2005) and as a working student at ZEIT ONLINE in Hamburg (2009–2010).
His doctoral project, titled "Blackbox Natur". Ökologisches Denken in der Bundesrepublik der 1980er Jahre, examines ecological thought in West Germany during the 1980s. He has contributed to teaching, including leading a proseminar on environmental history perspectives of post-1970s Germany and a tutorial on the mediatization of history.
Grabbe actively participates in institutional governance as an employee representative on the Management Board of Philipps-Universität Marburg.
