About
Prof. Dr. Till Strowig serves as Group Leader and Coordinator of the Bridging Topic "Microbiome" at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research (HZI) in Hannover-Braunschweig. His work bridges fundamental microbiome science with clinical applications in antibiotic resistance and infectious disease.
His research interests span:
- Microbiome recovery mechanisms post-antibiotic treatment
- Phage therapy development against multidrug-resistant pathogens
- Host-microbe interactions at mucosal interfaces
- RNA-mediated regulation in gut colonization
Current projects include the EVREA-Phage initiative targeting Enterococcus faecium infections, leveraging the specificity of bacteriophages as alternatives to conventional antibiotics. His recent publications demonstrate strong translational focus with implications for clinical infection management.
Prof. Strowig maintains active international collaborations, as reflected in multinational authorship, and provides research opportunities centered on molecular microbiology techniques within HZI's advanced infection research infrastructure.
