Tiffany Joy Butler is a Lecturer in Art and Design Education at the School of Art at Pratt Institute, and also serves as the Associate Curator of Public Programs at the Museum of the Moving Image. She integrates media education with English language learning for Program X: Cultural Activism and Media, and is the founder of the queer media arts collective Hot Cabinet.
Her work explores intersections of:
- Queer identity and artistic expression
- Visual storytelling and experimental film
- Cultural activism and community engagement
- Memory, heritage, and belonging
She has received recognition through:
- AIM Fellowship at The Bronx Museum
- Visiting Artist at Alfred University
- Writing residencies at Wassaic Project and Vermont Studio Center
Her writing appears in Reverse Shot, Feministing, Muchacha Zine, and the anthology Latinas: Gender, Race & Class—Struggles in 21st Century USA, Vol. 2.
