About
Dr. Tiffany Joseph is an Associate Professor of Sociology and International Affairs at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities, where she also serves as Graduate Program Director for Sociology. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan. Her research examines how public policy impacts individuals, with foci on immigrants' health access, comparative race and migration frameworks, and experiences of faculty of color in academia.
Her scholarship explores healthcare disparities through intersectional analysis of documentation status, race, and ethnicity. Current projects investigate policy exclusion mechanisms in healthcare systems and epistemic justice in academic institutions. Research employs mixed methods including policy analysis, ethnography, and longitudinal data.
Recent publications demonstrate concentrated focus on healthcare reform impacts, particularly analyzing how citizenship status creates stratified access. Her forthcoming book examines healthcare exclusion in the post-Obamacare era through legal status and racialization lenses.
