Dr. Tiew Pei Yee is an Assistant Professor at both Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU) and Duke-NUS Medical School (NUS), concurrently serving as a Senior Consultant in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at Singapore General Hospital. She holds an MBBS and PhD, specializing in chronic respiratory diseases and microbial pathogenesis.
Her research focuses on COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, and the role of microbiome/mycobiome in respiratory diseases. She leads the COPD Clinic at SGH and has authored numerous high-impact studies on microbial genomics, fungal sensitization, and clinical management of severe respiratory conditions.
Her recent work includes groundbreaking studies on sputum microbiome profiling in severe asthma, environmental fungal exposure in COPD exacerbations, and the integration of multi-omics approaches for COPD research. She has also contributed to pandemic-related studies on healthcare resilience during the COVID-19 crisis.
