Tibor Torma

Dr. Tibor Torma is a Research Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Mississippi and Director of Kennon Observatory. He holds a B.S. (1977) and M.S. (1984) in Physics from Eötvös University and a Ph.D. (1998) in Physics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

He teaches courses including Introductory Astronomy (Solar System and Stars/Galaxies), Mathematical Physics, and Introduction to Quantum Mechanics, all based in Lewis Hall. His expertise focuses on astronomy and broader physics disciplines.

Dr. Torma is affiliated with the Astronomy Minor and both B.A. and B.S. Physics programs at the Oxford campus. His academic contributions span research, teaching, and observatory leadership.
