Tian Zhang

Tian Zhang is an Associate Professor and Head of Serials and Acquisitions at St. John's University Libraries. She holds an M.L.S. from St. John's University (1991), an M.A. in English from Fordham University (1987), and a B.A. in English Language from Hunan Normal University, China (1982). Her primary role involves managing serials and acquisitions to build robust library collections, with a focus on electronic resources and open access journals. She collaborates with faculty to ensure resources support teaching and research programs, while addressing budget constraints through open access initiatives.

Prof. Zhang is a longtime member of the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) and assists international students and visiting scholars from China, leveraging her bilingual and cultural expertise. Her liaison areas include Linguistics, Speech Pathology, and Audiology. In her personal time, she practices horticulture and studies oriental garden design.
