Tiago R. Simões

Tiago R. Simões is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Princeton University. His research integrates genomic and phenotypic data from living and fossil vertebrates to reconstruct deep-time evolutionary patterns, emphasizing reptile origins, diversification, and climate change responses. Key projects investigate squamate phylogenomics, Triassic fossil assemblages, and macroevolutionary dynamics.

Simões employs Bayesian tip-dating, morphological phylogenetics, and developmental analyses to resolve evolutionary timelines and adaptive radiations.
