Tia G. B. Hansen is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University's Department of Communication and Psychology within The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She leads the Center for Developmental & Applied Psychological Science and co-directs the CHAP (Center for Human Animal Psychology). Her work focuses on anthrozoology, compassion-based interventions, human-animal interaction, and rehabilitation psychology following acquired brain injuries. She has been continuously active since 2001, publishing over 134 works and supervising 4 PhD students.
