Thomas Wilson

Thomas A. Wilson, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences within the Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences. He is also affiliated with the Sports Collaborative for Open Research and Education (SCORE).

Dr. Wilson's research focuses on the role of nutrition in chronic disease prevention and treatment, with emphasis on:

• Cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis
• Age-related macular degeneration
• Nanotechnology for nutrient/drug delivery
• Diabetes and obesity
• Exercise physiology interactions with diet
• Inflammation and oxidative stress modulation

His work spans pre-clinical animal models, clinical trials, and in vitro studies, particularly exploring how nutrients, supplements, and medications affect disease progression. Recent studies highlight nanoemulsion-based delivery systems for bioactives like quercetin and curcumin.
