Thomas Welch

Thomas Welch is the Director of Financial Aid at Sanford, Duke University, where he guides students on federal and institutional financial aid policies and educates them on eligibility and repayment. With over 17 years of experience in higher education, he previously held roles as Executive Director of Financial Aid, Adjunct Instructor, and Title IX Investigator at Barton College, and served as a Team Lead in NASFAA’s Blue Icon Emergency Corps. He holds a sociology undergraduate degree from Emory and Henry College and an MBA.

Research interests include financial aid systems, student support frameworks, and higher education administration. His work emphasizes equitable access and policy compliance in educational financing.
