Thomas Webb

Professor Thomas Webb is a social psychologist and academic staff member at the University of Sheffield's School of Psychology, specializing in self-regulation, behavior change, and environmental psychology. He holds the academic rank of Professor and is actively involved in research addressing challenges such as reducing plastic waste, sustainable packaging systems, and promoting pro-environmental behaviors. His work integrates insights from behavioral science, environmental science, and material science to design effective interventions.

Professor Webb leads the Leadership Team for Behavioural Research in the UK (BR-UK), funded by the ESRC, and collaborates with organizations like Purina to tackle issues such as pet obesity and sustainable practices. He has contributed to projects like the 'Buddie Pack' initiative and the 'Many Happy Returns' study, aiming to mainstream reusable packaging systems.
