Thomas Sturm

Thomas Sturm is an ICREA Research Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He has held positions including Ramón y Cajal Research Scholar at UAB (2009–2014), Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science (2005–2009), and Scientific Assistant at the University of Marburg (1995–2001). Sturm is also affiliated with UAB’s Institute for History of Science (IHC) and the LOGOS Group at the University of Barcelona.

• Research Focus: Kantian philosophy, rationality theories, philosophy of mind, cognitive science, history of science, and science policy in Europe.

His recent publications explore Kant’s systematicity in science, implicit reasoning, bounded rationality, and Cold War rationality. Sturm contributes to major Kant editions and collaborates on topics bridging philosophy, psychology, and science policy.
