About
Thomas Stone is a Lecturer in the University Writing Program within the School of Individualized Study at Rochester Institute of Technology. He holds a BA (Northern Arizona University), MA (Bucknell University), and Ph.D. (University of Rochester), specializing in literature and critical theory.
His research explores Medieval/Renaissance Literature, British Literary History, Philosophy of Language, Aesthetics, and Arthurian Studies. These interdisciplinary interests bridge historical texts with philosophical analysis.
Currently, he teaches two courses:
- ENGL-307 Mythology & Literature: Examines myth's cultural, psychological, and literary dimensions across global traditions.
- UWRT-150 FYW: Writing Seminar: Develops first-year students' analytical writing, research ethics, and rhetorical skills through diverse non-fiction texts.
