Thomas Schultz is a Professor of Law and Associate Director of the Centre for International Governance and Dispute Resolution (CIGAD) at King’s College London’s Dickson Poon School of Law. His research focuses on international arbitration, transnational law, legal philosophy, and investment law. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Dispute Settlement and has authored four books in these fields. His work earned the Jubilee Prize from the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences. Schultz teaches subjects including international arbitration, investment arbitration, and legal philosophy.
Research Interests: His interdisciplinary work explores arbitration’s legitimacy, legal theory, and the intersection of law with political science, literature, and philosophy. He also examines the principle of comity in international law and the social impact of private justice systems.
Publications: Over 98 research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and editorial works, highlight his contributions to arbitration law, transnational legal frameworks, and legal epistemology. Recent works analyze international investment law dynamics, legal authority in historical contexts, and the psychological foundations of legal scholarship.
