Thomas Raat is an artist and lecturer affiliated with the Bachelor Fine Arts program at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. His artistic practice investigates the intersection of painting, sculpture, design, and architecture within systems of display, focusing on how value is ascribed to materials and artistic strategies. He holds a dual focus on material origins and cultural-historical conventions, merging these into immersive exhibition frameworks.
Education includes the Royal Academy of Art (2001), Norwich School of Art and Design (2000), Delfina Studio Program (London, 2005-06), and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Amsterdam, 2011-12).
