Thomas Pfannschmidt

Thomas Pfannschmidt is Professor of Plant Physiology at Leibniz University Hannover's Institute of Botany. His research focuses on photosynthesis regulation, chloroplast biogenesis, and plant-environment interactions, with emphasis on plastid-encoded RNA polymerase and retrograde signaling mechanisms.

Teaching covers Plant Physiology, Photobiology, Evolution, and Bioinformatics. Current research investigates evolutionary adaptations in chloroplast transcription machinery and the role of polymerase-associated proteins in biogenesis.
