Thomas MacMullen

Thomas MacMullen is the Assistant Chair and Instructor in the School of Technology at Eastern Illinois University (EIU). He transitioned to full-time academia in 2021 after working in Information Technology Services (ITS). His research interests include Home Automation, SQL, Information Access, and interdisciplinary fields like Technology and Innovation. He holds an MS in Computer Technology (EIU, 2005) and a BS in Business (EIU, 1997).

Teaching focuses on advanced technical courses such as System Administrator & Architecture, Human-Computer Interaction, and Database Security. He actively contributes to educational practices, including migrating telecom lab practices to distance learning. Media engagements highlight his outreach in career education and community theater involvement.
