Thomas Kruse is a Senior Lecturer and Privatdozent at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, leading the research group on 'History of Ancient Law and Papyrology'. He holds degrees in Law, Ancient History, Classical Archaeology, and Medieval and Modern History from Heidelberg University. His academic journey includes roles as a research assistant at Bielefeld University (1992–1998), the University of Heidelberg (1999–2004), and a university lecturer at Heidelberg (2004–2009).
