Thomas Klein

Prof. Dr. Thomas Klein is the Director of the Institute of Sociology at the University of Heidelberg. His research focuses on population and family sociology, social structure analysis, social policy research, and empirical social research methods, with particular emphasis on aging, health, and social determinants of life expectancy.

Research interests include examining how social status, education, and partnership influence health in old age, as well as generational differences in physical activity.
