Thomas Isabelle is an FRS-FNRS Research Professor at Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain), Belgium. Since 2004, he has held the position of FRS-FNRS Research Director, and since 2013, he has been an extraordinary professor at UCLouvain. His career includes roles as a Senior Research Associate, Associate Professor, and Invited Professor at UCLouvain, alongside collaborations with the Gendarmerie Headquarters in Brussels and postdoctoral research at UCLouvain’s Department of Geography.
His research focuses on quantitative and economic geography, transport geography, cartography, and regional sciences. He has received prestigious awards, including the RSAI Fellowship (2019), the Edward L. Ullman Award (2017), and the Belgian Francqui Chair (2015).
