Thomas Hoppe

Thomas Hoppe is a Professor at the College for Music and Art, Department of Piano Chamber Music, at Folkwang University of the Arts. A renowned collaborative pianist, he has performed internationally with celebrated artists such as Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, and Tabea Zimmermann, and served as a piano partner at prestigious competitions including the Indianapolis and Queen Elisabeth contests.

• Active performer in ensembles like the ATOS Trio and ensemble 4.1 Piano Windtet, touring globally to venues like Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall
• Masterclass instructor in Germany, England, China, Japan, and other countries
• Former faculty member at the Perlman Music Program (2001-2004)

His research and teaching focus on piano chamber music, instrumental training, and collaborative performance techniques.

Hoppe joined Folkwang University in 2018 after studying at Juilliard School of Music and Peter-Cornelius Conservatory. He maintains strong international ties through performances and educational programs.
