Dr. Thomas Forrer is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Lucerne's Faculty of Culture and Social Sciences, Department of Cultural Studies and Science Studies. Previously, he served as Oberassistent (Senior Researcher) at the Chair of Cultural Studies until 2017. His current role involves teaching in the Integrated Cultural Studies program. His research focuses on interdisciplinary cultural analysis, particularly exploring topics such as rhythm and lifeworlds (1870–1940) and Nietzsche’s influence on early 20th-century cultural studies. He co-leads the research group 'The Turn to the Material: Nietzsche and the Cultural Sciences around 1900' with Tobias Brücker. Dr. Forrer’s work bridges historical and philosophical inquiries into cultural theory and materiality.
