Dr. Thomas Eiter is a Young Investigator at the Collaborative Research Centre CRC 1114: Scaling Cascades in Complex Systems at Freie Universität Berlin and a Research Fellow in the Partial Differential Equations group at the Weierstrass Institute for Applied Analysis and Stochastics in Berlin. He previously served as an interim professor at the University of Kassel (2023–2024) and completed his PhD in Mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt in 2020 under advisors Prof. Mads Kyed, Prof. Reinhard Farwig, and Prof. Giovanni P. Galdi.

Research Interests: Dr. Eiter specializes in the mathematical analysis of partial differential equations (PDEs), particularly those arising in fluid mechanics and continuum mechanics. His work focuses on time-periodic solutions, existence and regularity of solutions, asymptotic behavior, and complex continuum models. He actively contributes to projects such as the SPP 2410 initiative on hyperbolic conservation laws.
Teaching: He has taught courses at Freie Universität Berlin, University of Kassel, Humboldt-Universität, and Technische Universität Darmstadt, covering topics like mathematical modeling with PDEs, harmonic analysis, and functional analysis.
Activities: Co-organizer of workshops and minisymposia, including the 2025 Mathematical Analysis of Fluid Flows workshop and the 2023 ICIAM minisymposium on asymptotic properties in fluid mechanics. He also organizes the Material Modeling seminar at WIAS.
