About
Thomas Darrah is a Professor in the School of Earth Sciences at The Ohio State University. He directs the Water, Energy, and Life Laboratory (WELL) and holds expertise in geochemistry and noble gas applications.
Darrah's research investigates geological fluid migration (water, natural gas, oil, CO2, helium), geochemical techniques for energy exploration, and environmental impacts of energy extraction. His work combines isotopic analysis with environmental assessment.
Research funding comes from NSF, NIH, Petroleum Research Fund, and the National Children's Study. The WELL laboratory features advanced instrumentation including noble gas isotope ratio mass spectrometers and cryogenic laser ablation systems.
