Jun.-Prof. Dr. Ing. Thomas Dallmann is a junior professor leading the Radio Technologies for Automated and Connected Vehicles Research Group at Technische Universität Ilmenau since October 2022. His research focuses on automotive radar verification/validation, radar-communication system integration, and environmental representation for autonomous driving. Previously, he worked at RWTH Aachen University (2010-2016) and Fraunhofer Institute for High Frequency Physics (FHR), where he developed a radar target emulator simulating virtual traffic scenarios. He holds a PhD in radar cross-section imaging from RWTH Aachen.
Teaching responsibilities include lectures on radar technology fundamentals and plans for advanced radar system courses. His work aims to improve safety, sustainability, and comfort in automated driving through efficient frequency resource use and sensor fusion.
