Thomas Chopard is a Lecturer at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) in Paris, affiliated with the Centre for Historical Research (CRH, UMR 8558). He is a member of the EJ (Études Juives) team focusing on History and Historiography of the Shoah.
His academic background includes a Doctorate in History and Civilizations from EHESS (2009-2015) with a thesis on violence against Jewish populations in Ukraine between 1917-1924, and a Master in Social Sciences from EHESS (2007-2009).
Chopard's research focuses on violence against Jews in Central and Eastern Europe and migration patterns during the first half of the twentieth century. His work examines historical contexts of pogroms, occupation, and civilian violence during periods of political upheaval.
