Dr. Thomas B. Wild is an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Maryland's Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a joint appointment at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Joint Global Change Research Institute. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Sustainability (CGS) and affiliated with the Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC). His research focuses on complex systems challenges at the intersection of climate, energy, water, and socioeconomic systems, with emphasis on decarbonization pathways and the food-energy-water nexus.
Dr. Wild holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and M.S./Ph.D. degrees from Cornell University. He leads the Wild Research Group, which develops integrated assessment models to address multi-sector dynamics and sustainable infrastructure planning. Notable projects include NSF-funded work on regional FEW nexus planning in Latin America and IDB-supported decarbonization pathways studies in Colombia.
