Therese Standal is Professor at the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, NTNU. Her research focuses on multiple myeloma bone disease and inflammatory bone destruction.
She investigates how myeloma cells and inflammatory factors alter osteoblast/osteoclast activity. Current projects examine cross-talk between adipocytes, immune cells and myeloma cells in disease progression, and the role of pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-32 in pathogenesis. Her research group includes a technician, researcher, two postdocs and four PhD students.
