Theodore Arabatzis

Theodore Arabatzis is a Professor in the Division of History of Science and Technology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He obtained a Diploma in electrical engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD in history of science from Princeton University.

• Research focuses: history of physical sciences, historical philosophy of science.
• Notable publications: Representing Electrons: A Biographical Approach to Theoretical Entities (2006), co-editor of The Structure of Scientific Revolutions Revisited (2012), Relocating the History of Science (2015), and Big Science in the 21st Century (2022).
• Editorial roles: Co-editor of Metascience (2010-2014).
• Leadership: President of the European Society for the History of Science (2020-2022).

Scientific Awards:

• 2017 IUHPST Essay Prize in History and Philosophy of Science.
• Fellowships from Princeton University, MIT, and the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science.
