Themis Prodromakis

Professor Themis Prodromakis holds the Regius Chair of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh and directs the Centre for Electronics Frontiers. A Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies, he pioneers memristor-based hardware for AI and neuromorphic computing. Awards include the 2021 Blavatnik Prize for Physical Sciences.

His research bridges nanoelectronics and bioengineering, developing neural interfaces, reconfigurable circuits, and efficient AI accelerators. Recent articles focus on neural recording chips and RRAM-based memory systems. He founded ArC Instruments and SoneT.ai to commercialize testing infrastructure and AI hardware.

Prodromakis collaborates globally with Tsinghua University and Imperial College London. His work supports UN Sustainable Development Goals through energy-efficient computing innovations.
