Thea Petchler

Thea Petchler is an Adjunct Associate Professor affiliated with the Humanities and Design Sciences department and the Media Design Program. She teaches graduate courses in thesis writing and contributes to interdisciplinary design education.

Her research focuses on the historical and political dynamics behind public, private, and non-profit initiatives aimed at cultivating a creative workforce in the United States. She also teaches courses in nonfiction writing and popular culture, integrating critical analysis with creative practice.

From 2004 to 2011, she served as Writing Director, where she led the Writing Center, oversaw undergraduate writing curriculum, and advanced writing across the curriculum initiatives. She was on leave during Fall 2011, indicating ongoing but temporarily suspended academic engagement.
