Thea Beate Brevik

Thea Beate Brevik is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Social Care at Molde University College (HiMolde). She holds dual roles as Vice-Rector for Education and Chair of the Study Committee, overseeing educational policies and academic governance. Her research focuses on cancer screening, HPV prevention, healthcare provider education, and health equity for immigrant populations. Brevik earned her Ph.D. in 2022 with a dissertation on educational interventions in cancer screening, followed by a research stay at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in Lyon, France. She has received prestigious awards for her work in cervical cancer prevention and public health dissemination, including recognition from Romsdals Budstikke and the Norwegian Nurses Organization. Her scholarly contributions span over 15 peer-reviewed articles, addressing topics like mandatory reporting of intimate partner violence and cultural barriers to healthcare access. Brevik is also a vocal advocate for minority women’s participation in cervical screening programs, emphasizing systemic reforms to address health disparities.
