Dr. Terrell L. Tebbetts holds the Martha Heasley Cox Chair in American Literature at Lyon College. A distinguished academic, he has received the Williamson Prize for Faculty Excellence and was named Professor of the Year four times by Lyon students. He also earned the Carnegie Foundation’s 1992 Professor of the Year honor for Arkansas. His research focuses on American literature, with publications in journals like South Central Review, College Literature, and The F. Scott Fitzgerald Review. Additionally, Dr. Tebbetts is a poet, with works appearing in Whole Notes and Sparrow.
His community involvement includes leadership roles with the Arkansas Governor’s Developmental Disabilities Council, Batesville Historic District Commission, and Batesville Preservation Association. Recognized for civic contributions, he received Batesville Citizen of the Year and the Independence County Heritage Award (shared with his wife). He and Diane have three children.
Dr. Tebbetts’ academic home is the Alphin Humanities Building, where he actively engages in teaching and scholarly pursuits.
