Terhi Rantanen is a Professor of Global Media & Communications at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research focuses on media globalization, news agencies, and media history. She holds advanced degrees including a Docent from the University of Helsinki. Rantanen co-founded and directed LSE’s double MSc programmes with USC and Fudan University. She has authored seminal works like Dead Men’s Propaganda (2024) and contributed to over 100 publications. During 2024/25, she is on sabbatical. Her academic leadership includes serving as Chair of GSSC (2012-2017) and LSE Council member (2017-2022).
