Teresa Rabazas Romero

Teresa Rabazas Romero is a full Professor of Theory and History of Education at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), affiliated with the Department of Educational Studies within the Education-Teacher Training Center. She leads the research group 'CEGI: Historical and comparative keys to education. Gender and identities' and serves as Director of the Manuel Bartolomé Cossío Museum of the History of Education at UCM. Her academic career began with a PhD (1995) and an Extraordinary Doctorate Prize (1996) for her thesis on pedagogical manuals in 19th-century Spain.

Her research focuses on three main areas: 1) History of educational theories and pedagogical knowledge, 2) Educational heritage and museum pedagogy, and 3) Gender studies in historical and contemporary education. She has led major projects including the R&D&I initiative 'Origin and Development of Theoretical Knowledge of Education in Spain' and the European SUPERA project (2018-2022) addressing gender equality in academia. Her work integrates archival research, oral histories, and museum curation to explore topics like Francoist education, rural women's education, and inclusive museum practices.

She has published extensively in journals like Historia y Memoria de la Educación and authored books such as El conocimiento teórico de la educación en España (2014). Her recent projects include analyzing women's educational history (Herstory) and developing innovative teaching methods, including Freinet pedagogy in university settings. She collaborates with institutions like the Women's Institute and promotes gender equality through EU-funded initiatives.
