Teresa Quattrin

Teresa Quattrin, MD, serves as Associate Dean for Research Integration and UB Distinguished Professor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University at Buffalo. She drives cross-institutional collaboration in health sciences research while maintaining active clinical translational work in diabetes and obesity.

Research Leadership: An internationally recognized expert in Type 1 diabetes and obesity, Dr. Quattrin pioneers “team science” initiatives connecting medical departments, non-health schools, and community stakeholders. Her clinical trials focus on translational approaches to metabolic disorders while addressing systemic barriers in collaborative research.

Administrative Impact: As former Chair of Pediatrics (2010-2017), she elevated research expenditures through extramural grants, expanded clinical services, and strengthened medical education programs. She remains an emeritus member of the Association of Medical School Pediatric Department Chairs after serving on its board and key committees.
