Dr. Teresa Collins is an Associate Professor at Murdoch University's Centre for Animal Production and Health within the Food Futures Institute. Her research focuses on applied animal welfare science, livestock behavior, and veterinary education. She received the Vice Chancellor's Award for Research Impact (2019) and Veterinary and Life Science's Interdisciplinary Research Award (2016) for developing welfare assessment protocols used in Australia's livestock industries.
Her current work includes developing welfare assessment frameworks for lot-fed cattle and live export sheep, studying surgical alternatives in cattle reproduction, and implementing One Welfare approaches. She leads Australia's national online veterinary curriculum in Animal Welfare and Ethics and serves as Western Australian representative for the Australian Veterinary Association's Animal Welfare Trust.
