Terence M. Mashingaidze

Terence M. Mashingaidze is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at Midlands State University, Zimbabwe, and a Research Associate in the Department of Development Studies at the University of South Africa. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Minnesota, USA.

His 2021 project on Zimbabwe’s victims of politically motivated violence highlights state-centered peacebuilding failures and advocates for victim-sensitive strategies. Publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches combining history, trauma studies, and peacebuilding frameworks.

Key awards include funding from the African Peacebuilding Network (APN) and the IPRA Foundation. He has collaborated with Zimbabwe’s Organ on Healing, Reconciliation and Integration (ONHRI) and presented his research at the Benjamin V. Cohen Peace Conference in 2023.
