Teodoro Patera is a researcher affiliated with the Department of Romance Philology at the University of Göttingen and a member of the Centro di antropologia del testo at Macerata University. His work bridges literary anthropology, medieval poetics, and gender studies, focusing on the construction of masculinity in premodern French literature and the interplay between desire and narrative.

His current DFG-funded project, Mollesses: Schwächen und Verweichlichung des Männlichen (15.-17. Jhd.), explores male vulnerability as a critical lens in 16th-century French texts. He has authored a monograph on Tristan legends and is preparing another on Renaissance masculinity critiques.
