Tekleab Mekbib, MD, PhD, MPH is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Maternal and Child Health at the University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health. He holds advanced degrees including an MPH from UNC Chapel Hill (2015), a PhD in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Otto Institute of Obstetrics and Gynecology in St. Petersburg (1988), and an MD from Pavlov First Medical Institute (1981).
His work focuses on implementation science and improvement science for global maternal and newborn health, collaborating with the WHO Collaborating Center on research evidence for sexual and reproductive health.
