Teja Guda, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and holds the Jacobson Distinguished Professorship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He serves as Associate Dean of the Graduate School and Program Director for Biomedical Technology Commercialization within the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design.
- Education: B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UTSA/University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio; Postdoctoral work in Regenerative Medicine at Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine/US Army Institute of Surgical Research.
His research focuses on regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, with applications in biomedical technology commercialization. He leads the ReMeDI Laboratory (Regenerative Medicine and Device Innovation) and contributes to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of biomedical engineering and chemical engineering.
- Scientific Awards: NAI Senior Member (2024), Innovator of the Year (2023), NSF CAREER Award (2019), and participation in the National Academies' Thriving in Space Decadal Survey (2022).
