Dr. Tassos Papacostas is Reader in Byzantine and Medieval Culture at King's College London's Department of Classics. He holds architecture qualifications from Paris and advanced degrees in Byzantine Studies from King's College London and Oxford.
His research examines Byzantine and medieval Mediterranean archaeology with specializations in Cypriot history, Venetian architecture, and urban development. Current projects focus on architectural production in Venetian Cyprus and Byzantine urbanism.
Publications demonstrate expertise in church architecture, material culture, and cross-cultural exchange. Recent works analyze Renaissance Cypriot elites and aristocratic cultural practices.
